The Baltimore Metro area is known for being one of the worst in terms of suffering from rodent issues. Mice aren’t hard to detect, but how do you know when all the mice are gone?
Here are some tactics you can use that can give you an idea on the status of your home’s mice issue.
The first obvious sign that you no longer have mice in your home relates to no longer seeing them. To know for sure, inspect the areas of your home where you know mice may reside. You shouldn’t wait for them to run across your kitchen floor.
Mice cause a lot of damage in homes, and that’s why they can be dangerous. If you start to notice that wires aren’t chewed up, food isn’t harmed, and walls aren’t damaged, however, then you may have gotten rid of your mice problem.
Another way to detect that the mice may have moved on from your home is if you no longer spot droppings. While mice droppings are small, you can still detect them. You can find them most often along the walls of your home. If you routinely get rid of droppings and realize one day that there’s little to none left, the mice may no longer be in your home.
While mice usually stay incredibly silent, they still make noises from time to time; you’ll primarily hear scratching sounds in the walls. These sounds can get louder when a mice problem is at its highest, but if you take the necessary measures, these sounds will go away or come from other sources.
Like droppings, mice also tend to leave foul smells from their urine. A good way to tell if mice no long roam in your home is if the foul, Ammonia-like smell diminishes. You can’t smell this odor if mice no longer relive themselves in your home.
A final way to tell if mice are no longer a problem for your home depends on the time of year. The main reason why mice enter our homes in the first place is for shelter in the winter. Mice will no longer use your home as a habitat once the weather starts to warm up in May.
Not everyone is so lucky to get rid of an infestation on their own. If you notice your efforts to rid mice from your home continue to not work, contact Brody Brothers Pest Control in Baltimore County. We can help you get rid of your mouse problem once and for all.
